# ekl-desktop

Opens the EuKollab console in its own window, from your applications menu or a terminal.

```bash
pip install https://eukollab.ai/downloads/ekl_desktop-0.1.0-py3-none-any.whl
ekl-desktop --url https://eukollab.ai
```

The address is remembered, so later just run `ekl-desktop`. Without `--url` it uses, in order:
`EKL_CONSOLE_URL`, the last address used, the address from `ekl login`, then the hosted network, `https://eukollab.ai`.

## Which window

- **App window (default):** Chrome, Edge, Chromium or Brave in app mode, with no tabs or address bar.
  Sign-in with passkeys works as in the browser.
- **Embedded window:** `pip install 'ekl-desktop[webview]'`, then `ekl-desktop --window webview`.
  Some systems don't allow passkeys in embedded windows; sign in once in the app window if that happens.
- **Browser tab:** `ekl-desktop --window browser`.

`ekl-desktop --print` shows what would open without opening it.

You can also install the console straight from the browser, with no package: see the Downloads page.
